The coastal zone, is characterized by a thick and savage forest of pines
That separates from one part the fertile plains in front of the
nearby high grounds of Pisticci, and on the other part kilometers
of very white sand wet by the waves of a clean sea. With 8 km of
beach, it is an ideal sea for practicing aquatic sports, with
equipped beaches for tourists and therefore to satisfy the demands
of the bathers.

Originated from a landslide that occurred in 1688 in the Terravecchia
district and in succession reconstructed by peasants with typical
little houses all similar and rigorously aligned. This place is
included in the hundred wonders of Italy..

The first unit formed from a big tower in rectangular form,
in a dominant and strategic point, integrated with the castle.
It was carried out by the Sanseverino family, around the 400
and completed in the  500 by the feudatory Pietro Antonio
Spinelli, Count of Seminara.a.

En route through the road, that from Pisticci leads to the sea,
the Castle of San Basilio, is found on a hill surrounded by
olive trees, an imposing rural structure with another thousand
years of history.
